LIVING IN DOMINION

“So God created man in His own image in the image of God He created him male and female, He created them.” Then God blessed them and God said to them “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it, have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” (Genesis 1:27-28)

At the beginning, man was created as divine champion and given authority to rule and control everything else that God has created, including Satan and all his fallen angles (demons) in their various ranks and files.

After the fall, man became an object of oppression, by what he was originally given authority and power over to rule and subdue. Through Christ Jesus, the ability to live in dominion was restored to mankind so that you and I can live a successful and fulfilled life as ordained by God.

“He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the son of His love, in whom we have redemption through His blood the forgiveness of sins” (Colossians 1:13-14) All those that come to accept Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Saviour, have been given the right as sons of God to live an overcoming life.

“For whatsoever is born of God overcomes the world, and this is the victory that has overcome the world-our faith, who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God” (I John 5:4-5)

In living in dominion, there are two personalities you must know:

i) You must know your God- have a progressive and deep revelation of who God your heavenly Father is and the provisions He has made for you to be a champion and a victor here on earth. “And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall be corrupt by flatteries but the people that do know their God shall be strong and do exploits” (Dan.11:32).

ii) You must know yourself. The ability to be able to define yourself in relationship to God and what He accomplished for you through Christ Jesus is very important to a life of dominion on earth. “To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever Amen” (Revelation 56:6)

You are a royal priesthood, a holy nation and a peculiar, special person created in Christ to show forth God’s praise because by your redemption right, you are a king vested with the crown to exercise both political and economic power. You are a priest crowned with turban to exercise spiritual authority on earth.

By the God given authority, your environment or things around you should not limit your potential or hinder you from having fulfillment in life. The championship and dominion power in you is to be made manifest in every area of your endeavour because for this purpose, you are redeemed by the precious blood of Jesus Christ.

Joseph as a slave in Potiphar’s house, in the prison and as Prime Minister in Egypt lived in dominion. He conquered self, or the old-man in himself, sin from external influence and all forms of prejudice. It is worthy for you to note here that you must first live in dominion over self or your old man to be able to exercise authority and rule over forces of darkness to subdue them.

There are giants and Goliath type of people around you you must subdue to be established on the throne, as in the case of David. (I Samuel 17:34-37) There are evil competitors around you in your place of work, business place, Church or in your environment who do not want you to make it in life. Satan has induced and arrayed them against your God ordained breakthrough and promotion. Thus you must exercise your authority in Christ to overcome them as in the case of Daniel in Babylon.

God’s desire is that you live above board, live a life of honour, progress and glory and not shame, reproach or stagnation. So be prepared to put on the full armour of God and wrestle against the enemy of your soul striving to bear rule over your destiny, inheritance and possession. With God on your side, your shame and reproach will be turned to honour and glory as in the case of Hannah and Elisabeth.

CONDITIONS FOR LIVING IN DOMINION

i) Have a strong commitment to love and live right, hate evil and flee from every appearance of evil.

ii) Never run away from challenges, you must be willing and ready to face your Goliath and obstacles if the authority in you is to be made manifest.

iii) Ask daily for the in-filling of the Spirit-power.

iv) Be committed to the course of the kingdom and live a life of absolute and total submission to God’s authority.

v) Cultivate daily, God’s abiding presence.

vi) Exercise the God given authority in the blood of Jesus Christ, the Word of God and the authority in the Name of Jesus Christ.

As you have read through this message, the Almighty God will turn all the defeats in your life to victory, your failure to success, sorrow to joy and all your captors become captives in Jesus’ name.

Walk in holiness, live in dominion.

I thank God for sparing the life of my 2 year old son on the morning of 09 September 2007. I normally drive the car in the mornings on reverse gear for washing and on this particular morning the Spirit of God prompted me to look behind before reversing and I saw our 2 year old son behind the car. I thank God because he could have been killed. Br John.

I want to thank God because He is a prayer answering God. I used to pray God to intervene in the lives of my children for marriage, favour and all kinds of blessings and it seemed as if He was not hearing. I would wake up in the night and pray and also ask my friends to join me in prayer. But when God started to anwser, the blessings are just overtaking: my children are marrying and recently my daughter who went to school in the states found favour with a white elderly lady who is housing her. I give God all the praise. When we pray, He hears us and will answer us in due time. Mama Gisele.
